Blood Test

Blood tests are required to assess hormonal well being of the patient prior to planning appropriate treatment. Hormones listed below will be requested by your physician as a part of the initial work up.

Follicle stimulating Hormone (FSH) , Leutinising Hormone (LH) – usually requested between D2 – D4 of your periods.Other hormones will include Thyroid function tests, Prolactin, Anti Mullerian Hormone (AMH). Hormones such as DHEAS, Free and Total testosterone, Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG), Free Androgen Index (FAI) may be requested depends your presenting symptoms.

Checking your Fallopian tubes

There are 3 ways of checking whether your Fallopian tubes are patent.

  • Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)
  • Hysterocontrast sonography (HyCoSy)
  • Laparoscopy and Dye test :Laparoscopy is gold standard surgical procedure which is done to ascertain tubal patency.
